The long-awaited animated series Star Wars: Visions will be released on Disney+ in September and fans of Billie Eilish can enjoy the special concert film Happier Than Ever: A Love Letter to LA.
Star Wars fans are about to have a good September. As they await the next season of The Mandalorian and the upcoming Obi-Wan Kenobi show, a six-episode anthology called Star Wars: Visions is on the way. The show is actually an anime with each episode from a different Japanese animation studio and featuring a different story set in a galaxy far, far away. Next month you’ll also be able to tune into Billie Eliish’s concert film co-directed by Robert Rodriguez and Patrick Osborne, Happer than Ever: A Love Letter to Los Angeles, which finds the pop star performing her new record from the Hollywood Bowl. Below you can find everything coming soon in the new month, and what just arrived the month prior.
After ten seasons of American Horror Story – the tenth part will be released in October – Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuck still have enough scary stories to tell. In this spin-off of the hit series, each episode focuses on a new horror story and these horrific events are very diverse. For example, the first two episodes visit the Murder House from season 1 and the third episode shows how dangerous a movie can be.
This remake of the Doogie Howser M.D. – in which Neil Patrick Harris starred as a very young doctor – is about child prodigy Lahela “Doogie” Kamealoha. The sixteen-year-old works as a doctor in a hospital and tries to combine this tough job with ordinary teenage life. This is complicated by her loving mother, who also works in the hospital and is her strict supervisor.
George Lucas was inspired by Japanese samurai movies when creating Star Wars, and the new animated series Star Wars: Visions has come full circle. The largest Japanese animation studios give their own twist to the universe that Lucas conceived a long time ago with nine short films.
Billie Eilish plays all the songs from her new album Happier Than Ever at the legendary open-air theater The Hollywood Bowl. And as you can expect from the idiosyncratic singer, A Love Letter to LA has not become a boring concert recording. The film is directed by Robert Rodriguez (Sin City, Desperado, Alita: Battle Angel) and contains dreamy animation scenes in addition to its music, in which Los Angeles is discovered.
Jack Sparrow and Barbossa embark on a quest to find the elusive fountain of youth, only to discover that Blackbeard and his daughter are after it too.
