On September 8, Disney + will again come with his annual virtual event Disney Day and then the streaming service will come out big with new movies and series. But even after this date, Disney+ will come out with a number of strong titles, such as the Andor series, the second season of The Kardashians and the movies Pinocchio and Hocus Pocus 2.
Below you can see the full list of everything new on Disney+ in September, as well as a couple highlights to check out.
Series
Mike – Season 1
The drama series Mike tells the life story of iconic boxer Mike Tyson, played by Trevante Rhodes. Growing up in a slum, young Tyson learns boxing to defend himself against bullies. When trainer Cus D’Amato (Harvey Keitel) discovers him, he takes the teen under his wing and makes Tyson a world champion.
Andor – Season 1
Rogue One: A Star Wars Story introduced multiple characters, but they were dead before the credits came into play. One of those heroes was Cassian Andor (Diego Luna) and this prequel series shows how he grew from thief to rebel. As the battle against the Empire intensifies, he must make an important choice.
The Kardashians – Season 2
The first season of The Kardashians has just come to an end and the second season is already underway. The series of new episodes follows the family again through some major changes. Kourtney is engaged, Kim has a new boyfriend, Kylie has a baby and Kris is struggling with her health.
The Old Man – Season 1
Liam Neeson is not the only serious actor who suddenly becomes an action hero at a later age. Jeff Bridges is also suddenly a tough ass kicker with the series The Old Man. Former CIA agent Dan Chase (Jeff Bridges) lives isolated from society, but when he kills an intruder, he suddenly finds the FBI on his tail. Dan is on the run and in order to survive, he must deal with his great rival.
Movies
Thor: Love and Thunder (2022)
After a rough patch, superhero Thor (Chris Hemsworth) is back and helping the Guardians of the Galaxy defeat all kinds of alien threats. When gods are killed by Gorr the God Butcher, Thor realizes that he himself is in danger and confronts this psychopath. But to defeat this new threat, he needs the help of his friends and his ex.
Hocus Pocus 2 (2022)
It’s not Halloween without Hocus Pocus and this year there is finally a sequel to the beloved youth film. When the Black Candle is lit again, the Sanderson sisters can rise again and the three witches once again infest Salem. It is up to three students to stop the sisters.
Obi-Wan Kenobi: A Jedi’s Return (2022)
Ewan McGregor returned this year as Obi-Wan Kenobi in the series of the same name and this documentary takes a look behind the scenes. It shows how Ewan prepares for the iconic role of the Jedi Master, but also Hayden Christensen is followed. The actor had been criticized for his role as Anakin Skywalker and in Obi-Wan Kenobi he got another chance to prove himself.
Pinocchio (2022)
The wooden doll Pinocchio comes to life again, but this time in a live action version of the classic animated film. Desperate for a son, the lonely Geppetto (Tom Hanks) makes a puppet he calls Pinocchio. After a wish, the doll comes to life, but to become a real boy, he must first behave in an exemplary manner and the boy has trouble with that.
